Bad Cat Daily is a free browser game where you are the cat that knocks things off the table. You have 75 seconds to push as much as you can off the counters, shelves and tables of today’s room, and to freeze whenever the human turns around.

If you were looking for the tabletop game: Cats Knocking Things Off Ledges is a dexterity board game from The Op Games for 2 to 4 players, who build ledges and then knock toys off them. Bad Cat Daily is a video game instead: a daily 3D room in a browser tab, played on a phone or a computer.

Key takeaways

  • Play free at tokentails.com/badcat, with no download and no sign-up to play.
  • A run is 75 seconds. Swat things off surfaces; let go and freeze when the human turns.
  • Each room has three Must-Wreck targets worth +1,000 each.
  • Higher shelves, quick chains of breaks and the last five seconds all score more.
  • Put your own cat’s face on the 3D cat from one photo, which stays on your device.

How a run works

Bad Cat Daily on a phone: a grey tabby cat on a rug in a 3D kitchen, a broken mug on the floor, while the cook faces the stove

Before the run, a briefing card shows the room, the human and three Must-Wreck targets, for example a mug, a plate stack and a vase. Tap, or press Space, and the clock starts.

You move the cat cell by cell around a cutaway room, jump from the floor to a chair, from a chair to the counter, and from the counter to the high shelves, one level at a time. Swat a prop toward an edge and it falls. Fragile things break, soft things land, and drinks spill.

The human has a routine. He is busy for a few seconds, then warns that he is about to turn (a twitch, a “?” and a sound), then looks. While he looks, a vision cone shows on the floor. Moving inside it, or making a crash he can see or hear, fills his suspicion meter. Let go of the controls and your cat drops into an innocent loaf, which brings suspicion back down.

If the meter fills, you are caught: the human scoops the cat up for a cuddle (“BAD KITTY… come here”) and the run ends. Nobody is punished, and a caught run keeps half its score.

Controls. On a phone, drag on the left side to move (a small drag sneaks, a bigger one trots) and tap SWAT and JUMP on the right. On a computer: WASD or the arrow keys to move, Shift to sneak, Space to jump, J or a left click to swat, K to grab, Esc to pause.

How scoring works

These rules come straight from the game’s scoring code:

  • Height: a fall from the counter scores 1.5 times a fall from a seat, and a fall from a high shelf 2.5 times.
  • Combo: each break within a few seconds of the last one raises the multiplier, up to ×8.
  • Must-Wreck targets: +1,000 each, three per room.
  • Room event: once a run, something distracts the human for a few seconds (a delivery, a kettle, a phone call). Breaks during it score 25% more.
  • LAST CALL ×2: everything in the final five seconds scores double.
  • Framed the Roomba: knock something down next to the robot vacuum while the human is looking at it, and he blames the Roomba (+300).
  • Perfect Crime: not caught, suspicion never above half, and real chaos done, adds 25% to your total.

Tips for a bigger score

  1. Read the briefing. Find the three Must-Wreck targets before the clock starts and plan a route that passes them.
  2. Grab the easy first crash. Every daily room puts a fragile prop close to where the cat starts, so your first break can come in seconds.
  3. Go high early. Shelf props score the most. Climb while the human is busy, not while he is turning.
  4. Freeze on the warning, not on the look. When you see the “?” or hear the cue, let go. But do not loaf right beside a mess you made a moment ago: a cat sitting next to a fresh crash still looks guilty.
  5. Chain your breaks. Line up several props on one surface and swat them one after another to push the combo up.
  6. Save something for the end. Keep one or two easy props for LAST CALL, when points double.
  7. Practise first. Your one ranked run a day counts; practice runs on the same room are unlimited.

Put your own cat in the room

Snap or pick one photo of your cat, fit the face, choose its colours, and your cat becomes the 3D cat in every room. You can also skip it and play as a house cat. The full walk-through is in how to put your cat in a game.

Daily rooms and the weekly rhythm

There is one room a day for everyone, and it changes at midnight your local time. One ranked run a day goes on the daily board when you are signed in; guests can play every room but do not rank. “The Glass”, the kitchen with the wine glass, is always open outside the daily rotation.

Until 16 November 2026, the daily room is a preview that cycles through seven versions of the Kitchen. From 16 November the full week starts: a kitchen on Mondays, a living room on Tuesdays, a bathroom with a mirror on Wednesdays, a home office “on camera” on Thursdays, a party room on Fridays, a sleeping human with a noise meter on Sundays, and a bigger boss room on Saturdays with two humans and 90 seconds on the clock.

Share your best crime

After a run, the game cuts a short vertical clip of your best crime, ready to post. “Dare a friend” sends a link with your run so a friend can play the same room against your score. If you made your cat from a photo, the clip can open with that photo. To leave it out, switch off Show my cat’s photo in clips in Settings.

You can also build your own room in the Room Maker and send it to friends to wreck.

Why real cats knock things off tables

Real cats do this too, and not only to annoy you: there are well-known reasons, from play and hunting instinct to getting attention. Read why cats knock things off tables for the real-cat side, and the famous cat memes the game borrows from.

Frequently asked questions

Is Bad Cat Daily free?

Yes. The daily ranked run, unlimited practice and the cat maker are free in your browser at tokentails.com/badcat, with no download and no sign-up needed to play.

Does it work on a phone?

Yes. It was built for phones first, held upright: drag on the left of the screen to move, and tap SWAT and JUMP on the right. On a computer you use WASD or the arrow keys, Space to jump and J or a click to swat.

How long is a run?

A normal run is 75 seconds. Your very first run is a shorter 40-second first heist that teaches the controls, and boss rooms run for 90 seconds.

Is my cat's photo uploaded?

No. The game reads the photo on your device and keeps it there. Clips you make can open with your cat's photo; switch off Show my cat's photo in clips in Settings if you would rather they did not.
