You can help shelter cats online by meeting Pink Paw’s cats in Token Tails: real cats from a shelter in Kaunas, Lithuania, shown as pixel cards in the game’s Shelter. Getting a $5 shelter cat card is one way to help (Pink Paw’s share is 50% of each $5 shelter cat), and there are free ways too.

Here is who the cats are, how to find them, and exactly where the money goes.

Key takeaways

  • The shelter cats are real cats from Pink Paw (Rožinė pėdutė) in Kaunas.
  • Meet them in the game with MEET SHELTER CATS, or browse them all at /cats.
  • A shelter cat card is a digital Common card for $5, by card or crypto, on the web.
  • Pink Paw’s share is 50% of each $5 shelter cat. Payouts to Pink Paw are public at /shelter-payouts.

Who the shelter cats are

Pink Paw (Rožinė pėdutė) is a cat shelter in Kaunas, Lithuania. It joined Token Tails in March 2025 and is the shelter Token Tails pays today. You can read more about it in Pink Paw, a cat shelter in Kaunas.

Each shelter cat in the game is one of Pink Paw’s cats, with its own name and story. The card also shows the cat’s status at the shelter, for example waiting for a home or recovering. The shelter decides that status and finds homes for its cats itself. The game only shows it.

The Shelter also has “Famous cats” and “Event cats”. Those are Token Tails’ own characters, not shelter cats.

How to meet them

  1. Open tokentails.com/game. You can start without signing up.
  2. In the lobby, tap MEET SHELTER CATS. This opens the Shelter scene.
  3. Walk to Pink Paw’s zone and tap a cat to open its card and story.

Prefer a list? tokentails.com/cats shows every shelter cat. Open one to see its card, its story and, when it is available, the $5 offer.

What a $5 shelter cat card is

Under an available shelter cat’s card you will see Common · $5 and a Buy for $5 button. Buying it adds that cat to your collection as a Common card, which you can find in My Pets. Rare, Epic and Legendary cards come only from card packs.

A few honest details:

  • It is a digital card. It does not change where the real cat lives or who looks after it.
  • Card or crypto. The checkout takes a bank card or crypto.
  • Web only. The offer appears on tokentails.com, not in the mobile app.
  • One copy per cat. If you already have that cat, the card says “Yours”.

Where the $5 goes

Pink Paw’s share is 50% of each $5 shelter cat. The other half stays with Token Tails, which runs the games.

Payouts to Pink Paw go through open-source contracts and are listed at /shelter-payouts, each with a link to its transaction. Since 16 October 2026 the contracts pay Pink Paw’s own wallet. Token Tails created that wallet and keeps a recovery backup; the shelter’s staff hold the recovery phrase.

Free ways to help

You do not need to spend anything:

  • Win a Catnip Heist run. Catnip Heist is free in the browser with no sign-up. After a win, tap, and Token Tails sends Pink Paw a 0.01 USDC treat from its own budget (one treat per player per UTC day).
  • Tap for a treat. At /shelter-payouts/give, one tap and Token Tails sends a small stablecoin treat to the shelter.
  • Tell a friend. Each shelter cat has its own page at /cats, so you can share a cat you like.

And if you want to give a little money directly, Moon Rave is $1 = 1 cat. By card, Token Tails pays the full $1 out to Pink Paw on-chain; in USDC on Arc, the full $1 goes from the giver’s wallet straight to the Pink Paw split. See Moon Rave.

What changed since the first version of this guide

The March 2025 version of this page said that all proceeds went to shelters. That was not accurate for shelter cats as they are sold today: Pink Paw’s share is 50%. This version also drops the old in-game coin bonuses and the plush toy promise.
