$1 = 1 cat. Moon Rave is a live dance floor under a green moon: for each dollar Token Tails or a giver pays out to Pink Paw, a real cat shelter in Kaunas, Lithuania, one more cat joins the floor. You can add a cat for $1 by card or in USDC on Arc, and the full dollar goes to the shelter.
One dollar, one dancing cat, and a payout you can check yourself.
Key takeaways
- $1 adds one cat and $5 adds five, or pick a custom whole-dollar amount from $10 to $99.
- By card, Token Tails pays the full $1 out to Pink Paw on-chain. In USDC, the full $1 goes from your wallet straight to the Pink Paw split.
- Pink Paw gets the whole amount whether or not you tick “Cover the card fee”.
- Every payout appears on the public shelter payouts page with a link to its transaction.
What is Moon Rave?
Moon Rave is a 3D party scene at tokentails.com/rave, made by Token Tails for Pink Paw (Rožinė pėdutė). The cats on the floor are not decoration: the scene reads Pink Paw’s public payouts and shows one cat per dollar.
In the words on the page: “Every $1 Token Tails or a giver pays out for Pink Paw on-chain puts one more cat on the dance floor. Free treats, wallet gifts, sponsor matches, rave cats and Pink Paw’s 50% share of each $5 shelter cat all count.”
To be plain about who put them there: much of the floor today comes from sponsor gifts by Motored, a company owned by Token Tails’ founder (a related party). Those cats are sponsor money, not givers.
How $1 becomes one cat
- Open Moon Rave and tap Add a cat.
- Pick $1 · 1 cat, $5 · 5 cats, or a custom amount.
- Name your cats if you like (up to 16 characters each), and add your X handle if you want a shout-out. Both are optional, and the handle is shown publicly with your cats.
- Pay by card or in USDC. Your cats drop onto the floor, and the DJ shouts out their names.
The whole checkout happens on the page; you never leave the rave.
Card or USDC: what happens to your $1
By card. The checkout runs on Stripe and takes cards, Link and the usual phone wallets from Apple and Google. Token Tails receives the payment, then pays the full $1 out to Pink Paw on-chain from its own balance. A pre-ticked box adds the card fee on top; untick it and Token Tails absorbs the fee. Pink Paw gets the full amount either way. Token Tails aims to pay card gifts out within minutes. If its payout balance is low it can take longer; until then the order status says Paid, and it changes to On-chain once the payout lands.
In USDC. Choose the Crypto tab (USDC on Arc) and confirm the gift in your wallet on Arc. The full $1 goes from your wallet straight to the Pink Paw split, the open-source ShelterSplit contract that forwards it to Pink Paw’s wallet in the same transaction. Token Tails never holds it. A small network fee comes on top, from your wallet.
Either way, it is a gift to the shelter, not a purchase of anything that holds value. Moon Rave gifts are not tax-deductible donations.
How to see your dollar arrive
After you pay, the checkout keeps your order number on screen and moves through three states: confirming, Paid, then On-chain with a View payout link to the transaction on the Arc explorer.
You can also check from the other side:
- Open the shelter payouts page. It lists every ShelterSplit payout to Pink Paw from public on-chain events, and each amount links to its transaction.
- Each payout event carries a short memo. Rave payouts start with
tt:rave:, so on the explorer you can tell them apart from free treats (tt:page:,tt:heist:) and other gifts. - For a step-by-step walk through a real transaction, read how to verify a crypto donation.

Why small gifts add up for a local shelter
Pink Paw is a local cat shelter in Kaunas, not a national charity with a fundraising department. Shelters like that run on many small gifts. Food, litter and vet bills never stop, and a steady stream of small gifts is easier to plan around than one big cheque that may never come.
Small gifts also lower the bar. A dollar is easy to give on impulse, easy to share with a friend, and, on Moon Rave, easy to see arrive. The same checkout also takes larger amounts, and our guide to donating to a cat shelter online covers other ways. To give a cat on the dance floor as a present, see a charity gift for a cat lover.
Other ways to help Pink Paw
- Free: win a run of Catnip Heist and tap, and Token Tails sends Pink Paw a small treat on-chain (one treat per player per UTC day). Read how Token Tails works for the full picture.
- $5 shelter cats: in the Shelter scene of the main game at /game, each shelter cat card has a Common · $5 offer; Pink Paw gets 50% of each one.
Frequently asked questions
Can I really give just $1 to a cat shelter?
Yes. On Moon Rave at tokentails.com/rave you can add one cat for $1, five for $5, or pick a custom whole-dollar amount from $10 to $99. The full amount goes to Pink Paw, a cat shelter in Kaunas, Lithuania.
Do I get a receipt?
The checkout shows your order number, and once the payout is on-chain it links to the payout transaction. The card form asks for no email, so no emailed receipt is sent.
Is a Moon Rave gift tax-deductible?
No. Card payments and USDC gifts on Moon Rave are not tax-deductible donations, and Token Tails does not issue charity tax receipts.
What happens if my card payment is refunded?
If a card payment is refunded before Token Tails pays it out, nothing is sent and the cats do not arrive. A payout that has already reached Pink Paw stays with the shelter.
Is my name shown on the dance floor?
Only what you choose. You can name your cats (optional) and add your X handle (optional), which is shown publicly with your cats.
