On 23 May 2024 Token Tails joined the Rockit x Firstpick accelerator, a 7-week programme for early-stage startups. It was one of our first startup programmes, two months after the idea for Token Tails took shape.
What the programme offered
Rockit x Firstpick was built for teams at the very start. Over seven weeks it gave us:
- Digital learning materials on the basics of building a startup.
- Live mentor sessions with the programme’s mentors.
- Networking with other early-stage teams.
The aim, as we put it at the time, was to validate the idea early: a cat game with fun gameplay and real-world impact for cats.
Where it led
At the time, Token Tails was a virtual cat shelter game preparing its first release. The programme was a small, early step in a longer road that included a Stellar Community Fund grant, the thirdweb and GameBCN accelerators, and, in 2025, our first named shelter, Pink Paw in Kaunas.
Update, October 2026: Token Tails now makes free cat games tied to Pink Paw (Rožinė pėdutė), and every on-chain payout to the shelter is public on the shelter payouts page. The full timeline, including what we stopped doing, is in the Token Tails story.
