Purrsuit level 1-1: a ginger pixel cat stops in front of a row of spikes under the prompt JUMP! Space to jump the spikes

Written by the Token Tails team. Facts checked against live data on ; sources are listed at the end.

Purrsuit is a free pixel cat platformer inside the Token Tails game at tokentails.com/game: your cat runs, you time the jumps, and you reach the flag while grabbing catnip sprigs on the way. It has 78 levels in 13 chapters plus an endless Infinite run, needs no download or sign-up, and works in a browser tab on a computer or a phone.

This guide covers how to start, what every mechanic does, and tips for clearing levels and collecting every sprig.

Key takeaways

  • Play free at /game, then PLAY and Purrsuit. A brand-new player may be sent straight to level 1-1.
  • Your cat runs by itself; you jump and double jump with one button or a tap.
  • 78 levels in 13 chapters of six, plus Infinite, which opens after you clear 1-1.
  • The first time a new mechanic appears, the game slows it down and tells you what to do.
  • Paw Guards bring you back to a checkpoint, and an Assists panel helps on hard levels.

How to start Purrsuit

  1. Open tokentails.com/game. You can meet your cat first, or skip and keep the starter cat.
  2. Press PLAY and pick Purrsuit (its card is tagged CLASSIC).
  3. Pick a level on the map. START HERE marks where to begin.

A new player is often taken straight to their first level. Outside the Cupid Cat season (1 January to 31 March), that first level is Purrsuit 1-1.

Every level opens on a short card with the goal (“Run to the flag and grab catnip on the way”) and the controls for the device you are using. The cat waits, frozen, until your first key press or tap. That first input only starts the run; it is never used as a jump, so you cannot fall into the first gap by accident.

Controls

Action Keyboard Touch screen
Jump Space, W or up arrow Tap anywhere
Double jump Jump again in the air Tap again in the air

Purrsuit is a runner: the cat moves forward on its own, so all your skill goes into when you jump.

What is in the levels

The first chapter is gentle. Later ones mix these mechanics, each with its own one-line lesson the first time you meet it:

  • Spikes: jump them. The game’s own tip: jump when the spikes reach the cat’s nose.
  • Bounce pads: they launch you up; ride them.
  • Gravity flips: arrows on the level flip gravity, and jumping still works upside down.
  • Flight: in some sections you hold the button or the screen to rise and let go to dip.
  • Climbs: hold to climb, let go to drop.
  • Turnarounds: the run changes direction.
  • Sparkles: they give you one more jump in mid-air.
  • Portals: they carry you ahead; keep running.
  • Speed boosts and moving platforms: time your jump to the platform.

On your first run of a level, two things help. The world freezes in front of the first row of spikes and shows JUMP!, and the jump that answers it clears them. Then, the first time each new mechanic appears, it plays at about a third of normal speed as a short lesson. (With reduced motion turned on, it freezes and prompts instead.)

Tips for clearing levels

  • Use the slow lesson. Watch where the cat lands during the slowed-down teach; that is the rhythm you need at full speed.
  • Jump a moment early, not late. Most misses on spikes are late jumps.
  • Save the double jump. Use the first jump to clear the hazard and keep the second for a correction.
  • Clear first, collect second. Each level holds up to 10 catnip sprigs. Get the clear, then replay for the sprigs you missed.
  • Lean on Paw Guards. A slip sends you back to the last safe spot instead of ending the run. You get unlimited Paw Guards on level 1-1 until you clear it, and three per attempt on other levels you have not cleared yet.
  • Open the Assists panel. On the level map you can turn on Extra guards (three more Paw Guards on uncleared levels) or Slow-mo on every hazard. Purrsuit has no ranked board, so an assist never counts against you.

Classic, not endless content

Purrsuit is tagged CLASSIC for a reason: its 78 levels are the whole game, and no new levels are promised. If you clear all of them, your clears stay, and two things are left: chasing every sprig, and seeing how far the endless Infinite run goes.

Other games in the same picker

The PLAY menu has more than Purrsuit:

  • Paw Match: a time-attack cat match-3 with 30 levels in six worlds. See our Paw Match guide.
  • Cupid Cat: a seasonal platformer, open from 1 January to 31 March, where one new level opens each day.
  • Catnip Heist: a two-cat stealth puzzle with 16 levels. Read the Catnip Heist guide.
  • Pink Paw Knight: a 3D quest in which Clem, a tiny knight cat, rescues twelve lost kittens.

Your cat at Home, and the Shelter’s cats

Purrsuit is one part of a cozy pixel cat game. At Home you feed your cat between runs. In the Shelter, Token Tails shows real cats from Pink Paw, a cat shelter in Kaunas, Lithuania, as cards you can meet. If you like looking after a pixel cat, read our guide to virtual pet cat games.
